Southside Skatepark is heading BACK TO THE BEACH with VANS!
Save the date for Saturday, October 3rd, because we're taking Southside Skatepark down to Galveston for an afternoon of skateboarding, cash, contests, giveaways and good times with Vans.
We're bringing $2,000 CASH FOR TRICKS to the beach and setting up a full afternoon of different jams designed to keep the skateboarding moving from start to finish.
We're talking barrier skating, a 37-foot flatbar and wedge-to-ledge skateboarding — all happening at the beach access ramp near 57th Street and Seawall Boulevard in Galveston, Texas, directly across the street from Kroger.
THREE JAMS. $2,000 CASH. A GRIP OF VANS SCHWAG
This isn't your typical skate contest.
We're putting together a series of fun, fast-moving jams where skateboarders will have the opportunity to get rewarded for their best tricks on the spot throughout the afternoon.
BARRIER JAM
We're bringing back the beach barrier and giving skateboarders the opportunity to get creative with it.
37' LONG FLATBAR JAM
That's right — 37 feet of flatbar.
Long grinds, creative tricks and whatever else you can come up with. This one is going to be a challenge.
ALL NEW - WEDGE TO LEDGE
The natural terrain of the beach access ramp gives us the perfect setup for a wedge-to-ledge session. We're bringing the skatepark to the beach and letting the skating take over.
$2,000 CASH FOR TRICKS
Throughout the afternoon, we'll be handing out $2,000 in cash for tricks, along with a grip of Vans product and schwag to give away.

Because of the location and the format of the event, space is limited.
If you're planning on skating, get to the check in tent at noon for check-in. Don't roll up late and expect to get into the jams — we want to get everyone checked in, organized and ready to skate by the time the first event starts at 1 PM.
